This Web Site with its home page in the domain “prisms.org” is a complimentary information and interactive community service offered by PRISMS, Inc (hereinafter PRISMS), at no charge to users of the world wide web, with the express condition that these users agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth in this User Agreement. PRISMS reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time, without notice to you, and you must consult the most recent version of this User Agreement (not an older cached version) each time you view the Web Site. Use of this Web Site constitutes your acceptance of all of the following terms and conditions, in their current form or as modified.

Description of Service

PRISMS currently provides users access to an extensive amount of resources, including, but not limited to, health and medical content, online tools, article/publication offerings and various communication tools (the “Service”). PRISMS assumes no responsibility or liability for the timeliness, deletion, misdelivery or failure to store any user communications or personalization data or settings. All such risks shall be borne by you.

Privacy Policy

PRISMS is committed to protecting your privacy. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. We define personal information to include: name, email, address, phone number, survey responses, registry information and content of your correspondence with us.

When you contact us, your email address and other information included in your email may be forwarded by us to the appropriate person(s) within PRISMS for a response. A copy of your correspondence may be retained at the PRISMS office and also by the responding individual. PRISMS has established and maintains a list of our members including affected individuals, families, friends, relatives, physicians, scientists, contributors and others interested in Smith-Magenis Syndrome to allow us to communicate with you. Our list will not be sold, rented or given to any third party for commercial use, nor do we currently expect to release these lists to any third party for any reason. However, if PRISMS sees a need or a possible benefit to you of making your personal information available to a third party, we will not do so without first identifying the recipient and providing a full explanation to you. Information determined to be confidential can only be released by written or verbal permission by the person or organization identified. Verbal permission can only be given for a specific release. Any general release must be in writing.

This Web Site provides links to other sites that may be of interest. PRISMS is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of other such web sites.

Usage of Content

Unless otherwise indicated, all information contained on this Web Site (“Content”), such as text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips is copyrighted by and proprietary to PRISMS, and may not be copied, reproduced, transmitted, displayed, performed, distributed, sub-licensed, altered, stored for subsequent use or otherwise used in whole or in part in any manner without PRISMS prior written consent, except that the user may make such temporary copies in a single computer’s memory and/or hard drive cache as are necessary to browse the Web Site.
