The video below is from the 6th International Conference, held in 2009, on the session presented by Brenda Finucane regarding the "inner toddler" in SMS. This presentation delves into developmental asynchrony, a term used to describe unevenness in the intellectual and socio-emotional development of children. It is thought that developmental asynchrony is common among people with SMS and is a major underlying contributor to maladaptive behavior in this population.
This 6-1/2 minute video was originally produced for fundraising events but may also be helpful to increase your understanding and awareness of SMS. A special thanks to Bob Singleton at Singleton Productions, Inc. (http://www.singletonproductions.com) who produced this video for us.
