2012 Conference - Silent Auction Items Needed
Hello everyone!
My name is Kellie Cooney. ONE of our daughters, Julia, is 12 years old and has SMS. This upcoming conference will be my family’s sixth ONE! Each time ONE conference ends, we start looking forward to the next ONE!
The PRISMS "Building Bridges of Hope" 2012 conference, is rapidly approaching! I am helping with the silent auction this year and need all of your help. For those of you that haven’t attended previous conferences, we have a silent auction that starts on Friday and ends Saturday evening. It is meant to raise money for PRISMS, however, it is also meant to provide light hearted competition and fun between bidders!!
In the past, we have had items such as golf balls, bracelets, silk scarves, video games, children’s game and books (the kids love to bid also), restaurant gift certificates, sports memorabilia, electronics, blankets, autographed books, candles, dinner with Ann Smith and Ellen Magenis, gift cards, TVs and sweatshirts! If you can think of it, we may have had it!
I am asking each ONE of you to help with ONE donation. Please believe me when I say, I understand all the challenges we face having SMS family members. I know what it is like to be asked to do ONE more thing. That is why I am asking for only ONE item from each ONE of you. Maybe you know someONE who owns a business and would be willing to donate ONE auction item. Maybe you have your own business and could donate ONE item. Could you ask ONE business in your community to donate ONE item? (Of course if you can get more than ONE item for the silent auction that would be fabulous!!)
With the holiday season here, this is the time to look for bargains at the stores or from businesses that can be used for our auction! We have plenty of time before the auction but keep your eyes open for great auction items.
Also, this year, I am going to ask for ONE donation from SMSers themselves. (Something created or made by them.) I will use these items a little differently during the auction. I will send more information after the first of the year so everyONE will understand more!
Once you have the item, please contact me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. so I can get basic information from you about the item. This will help me be ONE hundred percent prepared for the Silent Auction. If you are coming to the conference, please bring it Thursday night. If you are not coming, is it something that could be mailed? There is a family in Denver who is helping me with the auction and will graciously accept mailed items. Could a family in your area attending the conference bring it for you? (If not, we can talk about it when you contact me.)
The summer will come quicker than we realize! Please help this silent auction be as fun as the others we have had in the past! If you have any questions, please send me a note at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . I look forward to talking with you.
In SMS love, Kellie Cooney
