PRISMS will be joining the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) and others around the world in observing Rare Disease Day on February 29, 2012. On this day, millions of patients and their families will share their stories to focus a spotlight on rare diseases as an important global public health concern.

Rare Disease Day is an international advocacy day to bring widespread recognition of rare diseases as a global health challenge. The day is celebrated on the last day of February every year. Every year, Rare Disease Day has a specific theme worldwide. The theme of Rare Disease Day 2012 is solidarity and the official slogan is "Rare but Strong Together."
